SJVN Ltd bags Rs 2600 cr worth of solar and wind power projects

SJVN Ltd has announced that it has been awarded two solar power projects and one wind power project. The total cost of developing these projects is approximately Rs 2600 crores.

The three projects are as follows:

  1. 200 MW Grid Connected Solar Power Project in Khavda Solar Park, Gujarat: The Company bagged the full quoted capacity of 200 MW @ Rs 2.88 per unit on Build Own and Operate basis under Open Competitive Tariff bidding by GUVNL. The tentative cost for development of this project shall be approximately Rs 1,200 Crores. The project is expected to generate 505 million units in 1st year of commissioning and cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be around 11,756 million units. Commissioning of the project is expected to reduce 5,76,067 tonnes of carbon emission.
    • 100 MW STU Connected Solar PV Power Plant in Rajasthan: Company through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (“SGEL”) participated in the Request for Selection (RfS) floated by Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (“RUVNL”) for setting up of 1,000 MW STU Connected Solar PV Power Plant anywhere in the state of Rajasthan. The Company bagged 100 MW @ Rs 2.62/Unit on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis under Open Competitive Tariff bidding process followed by e-Reverse Auction on 04.05.2023 by RUVNL. With the allotment of this capacity, SJVN’s Renewable portfolio in the Rajasthan State has reached to 1,100 MW which includes 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Project which is in advance stage of commissioning. The cost of Construction / Development of this project shall be approximately Rs 600 Crores. The project is expected to generate 252 MU in the 1st year and the project cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 5,866 MU. The commissioning of this Project is expected to reduce 2,87,434 tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute in GoI mission of reduction in carbon emission.
    • 100 MW STU/CTU Connected Wind Power Plant: Company through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Limited (“SGEL”) participated in the Request for Selection (RfS) floated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. (“GUVNL”) for setting up of 500 MW STU/CTU Connected Wind Power Plant anywhere in India. The Company bagged 100 MW @ Rs 3.17 /Unit on Build Own and Operate (BOO) basis under Open Competitive Tariff bidding process followed by e-Reverse Auction held on 05.05.2023 by GUVNL. The Wind Power Project shall be developed by SJVN/SGEL anywhere in India through EPC contract. With the allotment of this capacity, SJVN’s Renewable portfolio now stands at 3,283 MW and are at different stages of implementation. The cost of Construction / Development of this project shall be approximately Rs 800 Crores. The project is expected to generate 281 MU in the 1st year and the project cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years would be about 7,025 MU. The commissioning of this Project is expected to reduce 3,44,255 tonnes of carbon emission and would contribute in GoI mission of reduction in carbon emission.
